You do realize none of what you wrote answers my question nor contradicts anything I wrote, right?

FlorisBoard is a FOSS keyboard, that apparently has the space bar cursor thing (I just found that out, thank you).

It also has glide typing but I don't use it so idk how good it is. Still would recommend giving it a try. Very solid and customizable IMO, with FOSS privacy.

There is like a billion free keyboards for android, even FOSS ones and you can disable the auto-complete on gBoard as well. But you go blame capitalism for every thing you mess up in your life, instead of making improvements. That will surely help.

the leftist idea that crime happens because the needs of individuals (physical, psychological, and social) are not met by their material conditions.

Like, why do people always jump to thinking there can only be one correct option out of multiple choices?

I am sure there are many people committing crimes because they can't fulfill their basic needs any other way.

But do you think Trump is lacking in material conditions? People are diverse and they commit crimes for diverse reasons.

Yeah, but they chose to use Reddit and gboard. Like 2/3 self-inflicted.

Ceremonies are lightweight brainwashing, designed to make people act and/or think in certain ways. Always have been. No matter if they are religious or secular.

Consider graduation ceremonies. You are being handed a piece of paper, that basically signify you did what some teachers asked you to do for x years, mostly memorizing useless shit. But they don't want you, and employers to think what that paper really is. They want everyone to think the paper is important. So they have hours long ceremony, where everything is designed to make the fact you are handed the paper feel important.

I don't think anyone really likes ceremonies as such. They like the feeling the ceremony is designed to evoke, or what the ceremony signifies.

Yeah, that is the point of the article. Not to point out the president-elect that was on the verge of bankruptcy for like 30 years is suddenly and mysteriously agreeing with everything the richest man in the world says.

And its not like it is business profit, unless you can put the tickets you buy as business expenses. To me, it is in the same category as gifts. Should not be taxed.

Objection! Your statement is devastating to my case!

There is a difference between ideology and objective reality.

My goals in life and what I want the world to look like are part of my ideology. Capitalism being a useful tool to achieve them is (or isn't, if I am wrong) objective reality.

Rule 34 clearly states everything on the internet must fuck everything. No exceptions! AI will be forced into fucking everything!

Yes. Capitalism is a tool that allows us to scale industry up. Good or bad. Just like fire is indispensable for our society, but if you don't regulate it properly, it will burn things down.

Capitalism allowed for scaling things up. Assholes got a hold of it first and used it to scale up slavery and wars. Doesn't mean it is inherently evil.

Sure, it is an imperfect and dangerous tool, but by far the best we have.

I see this way too often here on Lemmy, so I want to post this. Starting a commune is legal in most countries. If you believe in communism, you can found a commune and show us all how great it is.

You lack money? Well, that is literally what stock markets and venture capitalists (capitalism) are created to solve. If you are ready for an IPO, you can sell shares to raise funds. If you are not, you can get Venture Capital in exchange for shares until you are ready for an IPO.

Getting rid of capitalism means you need to find a different way to obtain funding for new ventures. And if your system relies on government charity (some government board handing you money) or taking resources violently, than your system sucks.

Edit: I don't mean that this is a replacement for full communist system. I mean this as a way to get some of the advantages while showing sceptics (like me) it can work and is better. A first step.
