I really doubt Turkey would mix well with EU values, both on political and cultural level.

I would suggest: Theory Tuesdays

On Tuesdays we could discuss what car upgrades would be better, tire brands best for pavement, which suspension system is the best etc. Basically theorize what automotive technology is promising and is worth looking into.

Previas are cool, just make sure to take care of the rust in the wheel arc

[–] DominicHillsun 3 points 2 years ago

Entirely depends how old your car is. If new, or less than 10 years old it will take around 2 hours if you have all the tools. For me it took 4 days because my car is around 25 years and all the bolts were rust welded. Had to heat the bolts, impact them, restore the parts etc.

It's not that it becomes unusable, but greatly increases the chances of it being rounded off or making the fitment of the tool difficult, requiring quite a bit of cleaning with a brush

Yes, it's an effective anti-seize method. There are multiple cons with it due to it being somewhat messy to apply and needing to reapply it after unbolting. Also it protects the threads from rust/seize but not the head

IS THAT A SOOOOPRA?

I am currently dipping the rusty parts in acid, will post another update of the process later in the community

Ah, I see :D I guess it is important not to miss those actual sparks of curiousity though

I had Louis C.K bit in mind when I wrote about the "why?" game bit. Comedy is a wonderful way to introduce people to more complex subjects

[–] DominicHillsun 1 points 2 years ago

Usually I would do that by just googling the model of your phone and see if it has the HW AV1 decoder, or checking if your chip supports it. On VLC player app I think there are settings that show you which decoder is being used too

Great responses in this post. Thank you for additional source

What the fuck did you just fucking say about AV1, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in FFmpeg, and I've been involved in numerous secret encodes on nyaa.si, and I have over 300 confirmed encodes. I am trained in gorilla debugging of day 0 appveyor releases and I'm the top shitposter in the entire AV1 subreddit. You are nothing to me but just another video file. I will compress you the fuck out with efficiency the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my #daala IRC across the TOR and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the DDOS, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your seedbox. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, you name it. And I am supported in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my in pre-alpha decoder. Not only am I extensively trained in batch scripting, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Amazon Web Service and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable h265 encodes off the face of the internet, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your cheetos covered fingers of the keyboard. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

I decided to ask /u/stevenrobertson (youtube engineer) why are AV1 videos using such high bitrates, here is hour exchange:

Me:

Hi, I'm a moderator of r/AV1 and community noticed a weird trend with AV1 videos on youtube. The whole point of AV1 was to deliver better quality for smaller data streams but apparently it's not the case right now.

AV1 files have larger bitrates than VP9 and we are somewhat confused by this. Do you have any information that you could share with the community, that would help us understand how youtube is planning to use AV1?

stevenrobertson:

Hey Dominic! AV1 is expected to save YouTube and its users a ton of bandwidth over the next decade or so. Our goal today is entirely around driving adoption, making sure hardware decoders land where they need to and are reliable and well tested. We're explicitly targeting fidelity levels that are higher than VP9 for now as part of driving that adoption, making sure decoders are fast and reliable and making sure AV1 always looks great. This is still just the start of the AV1 rollout. HTH!

Encoded a video on FFmpeg using -pix_fmt yuv420p10le command, and it is stuttering a lot, same thing doesn't happen with 8 bit.

I've been using this command for running rav1e encoder:

ffmpeg -i test.mkv -pix_fmt yuv420p -f yuv4mpegpipe - | rav1e - --first-pass --quantizer 100 --speed 10 --tiles 8 --tune Psychovisual --second-pass --quantizer 100 --speed 10 --tiles 8 --tune Psychovisual --output output.ivf

But all it does is give this error:

av_interleaved_write_frame(): Invalid argument Last message repeated 3 times Error writing trailer of pipe:: Invalid argument

Does anyone know the correct syntax for two pass encode in rav1e?

-aq-mode E..V..... adaptive quantization mode (from -1 to 4) (default -1)

none E..V..... Aq not used

variance E..V..... Variance based Aq

complexity E..V..... Complexity based Aq

cyclic E..V..... Cyclic Refresh Aq

These are the options I get in FFmpeg, however I don't know in what mode it should be used, or how to properly use it, any input would be highly appreciated.

I've been trying to get used to C# because I've never really developed anything with it, except with C++.

WARNING This is still in a very early state, if you notice bugs or want some features added, comment below and I'll do my best.
