Fun story time: Here I am browsing Lemmy when I come across this post and think to myself, "Wow I just made the same post on Mastodon. I'll need to post a link to my toot" only to realize that this was my toot.
The Fediverse really messes with my mind sometimes with how you can post to Lemmy communities from Mastodon.
I have several Indian co-workers who are "vegetarian" but eat chicken which I have been told "is not meat".
Also, my mom worked for the church and a large number of people would call up every Lent to ask if chicken was meat..
I'm not sure where this idea that meat = beef comes from but it's very prevalent.
It has to do with old abstinence laws which stated that meat comes from "land animals" and classified fish as a separate category of creature.
So they're finally realizing that staunch support of politicians with unchristian behavior leads to unchristian behavior in their constituency.
For straws I bought some metal straws. I initially bought them to prevent the waste of single use plastic straws but it also helps with the microplastic problem.

I agree with this 100%. It would also help with QOL since I won't need to follow a bunch of the same communities spread out over numerous instances.
When I first played Morrowind, I was quite surprised when people took offense to me robbing them of all they owned. Now when I play games I'm never sure if theft is a crime or not.
I tried this out on my mastodon account and it worked really well. Honestly, if browsing communities on Mastodon wasn't such a nightmare I wouldn't even need the Lemmy account.

I have a Lemmy and Mastodon account and decided to see how well linking a Toot to a Lemmy community would work. It was surprisingly smooth. Mastodon even provided some autocomplete for the community.
Edit: it did the title a little weird but everything else was fine.
They did screw it up completely and needed to be saved though so that part was accurate.
