Excel, which I consider the primary reason to use Office (at least for my job) lacks quite a few features on the online version compared to the installable version.

I know this, and they suck (it's another freaking cord to carry around in your pockets), and it's unnecessary in the face of just getting a phone that doesn't need it!

I can't charge my phone and listen to stuff at the same time, and my headphone jack headphones work with every device but a new phone. Don't know why I would want to throw that convenience away all because Apple/every other manufacturer decided we should get rid of headphone jacks.

Super happy to hear! I look forward to trying it out on my laptop. Thanks for chiming in with that bit of information.

I love PopOS- it's my daily driver of choice for laptops, and just a good experience overall. I'm certainly hyped and hoping for the best with Cosmic DE, once it's ready for the general user audience.

One thing I would love to see would be if Cosmic supported the ability to choose the default file manager (think Nemo or Dolphin) when it releases. While you can switch file manager defaults via terminal, it's a little tricky and doesn't always work smoothly across applications (see weirdness with Firefox and PopOS when doing so).

Anyone else here have very opinionated views on file managers? Any other default app stuff they'd like to see with Cosmic's general release?

I've been playing my way through and enjoying Pokemon Unbound, one of the most amazing Pokemon rom hacks to have been created. It's a rom hack with a custom region, custom story, and amazing customization in settings. It even manages to have a difficult mode that is challenging without being grindy bullshit.

I'm doing a "soft nuzlocke" of the game, where I can only capture one Pokemon a route, and my Pokemon don't die- instead, when I wipe, the entire run ends. It's a lot more forgiving and fun way to play Pokemon while making it a little bit more challenging. Would recommend trying any Pokemon game this way, and would especially recommend Pokemon Unbound whether you're a casual or experienced Pokemon player.

TL;DR for those who didn't read the article- it's going to basically offer users choices of programs to have pre-installed where they can basically customize their installation experience... but it's all going to be predicated on their useless snap store. In other words, as usual the best way to experience Ubuntu is via some third-party variant.

Glad to hear. I think there's obviously a place for memes, but I value discussion a lot more than image posts.

I've played it a bit before work. It keeps traditional WC about the same (apart from redwoods) while offering more for people who like to pay attention to the game. It's all beneficial without any detriments, apart from maybe the timing on redwoods.
