Yeah, that's part of the learning curve when moving from 5e to PF2. High AC in PF2 isn't about avoiding the hit, but avoiding the crit. If you're in melee you're getting hit lol

That was my understanding, that they've been around for a while but got promoted to iconic with PF2. Willing to admit I might be wrong on that, but could've sworn I remember reading about them in PF1 lore.

Funny, that's exactly the reason I like Mastodon's feed over traditional social media. No bullshit being pushed, just the people I'm following and the posts they make.
Savage Worlds might be more what you're looking for. A bit more crunch than PbtA but not as much crunch as 5e or PF2, also there would be less work to convert the setting you're creating.
