I thought of it this way too and I think as long as people can get the gist we should be all good, though for me personally I prefer using the planet analogy considering all of these platforms are on the Fedi-universe, and trying out different platforms like Mastodon feels like it's "on a whole other planet" as a less tech-savvy person

September can't come soon enough to be honest. 20th anniversary is coming up too so I feel like this is going to be the biggest MH yet. Imagine a Pokke Village reunion? A "Pokke Mon" collab? FFXVI? Some side quests with MH Stories?! I better stop I'm getting hyped and I might be setting myself up for disappointment lol

I hope to see a ton of older monsters like Lagi boi but I think I can also trust Capcom with whatever new monsters come out. Nergi, Velk, and the Malzenos are such amazing additions

Same tbh though I think trying to replicate things here wouldn't be too bad. I know people say we shouldn't be a Reddit clone but I feel like being a clone or close to it would be beneficial as I do think people are really looking for a replacement for Reddit, not an alternative. The whole point is still to be a forum-like community, just without actually being on Reddit because of its terrible CEO/decisions and what its future holds for its users

I'm really looking forward to seeing other subs like Monster Hunter Meta and fashionhunters come over too. I wish I knew how to mod a community else I'd start it myself

I agree tbh, Basking in Eternal Breeze has got to be my favorite song out of anything in Rise, and with Scarlet Feast at a really close second

Hahaha. Well it was probably the sudden drop from 8-time WCC to barely-a-podium sitter that had them like this, especially with such a perfectionist attitude instilled in the team

Can you imagine how insane it would be if one of the Merc boys swapped with one of the Ferrari boys though

I took up sim racing to help improve my focus. Every day I do 2 - 3 hours worth of laps, and I make it my goal to do consistent laps. Not necessary fast but just consistent. If I can stay within 0.5 - 1 second for x laps in a row, I count it as a win and I try to break that record the next day or at the very least meet the same number.

Helps with my memory retention too as poor memory is sometimes another side effect of ADHD from what I'm told

I was a bit confused about the place at first too. Here's a comment I copy-pasted from a previous post of mine:

My friend gave me a great explanation:

  • Lemmy the platform is planet Earth

  • “Instances” like lemmy.world, lemmy.ml, beehaw.org, etc. are like the different countries on Earth

  • When someone signs up, the user picks one instance to be a part of, like how an Earthling becomes a citizen of a country

  • If you register at lemmy.world, that means your home instance/ “home country” is lemmy.world, but you can “travel” to lemmy.ml, another instance / “country”, to check out and subscribe to their community

  • When you subscribe to a different instance that’s not your home instance, you can still participate in their content, and other people will be able to see which instance / “country” you’re from

  • Each instance can have its own version of the same “subreddit”, so you can have a c/Memes in your home instance that is different from a c/Memes in another instance. But you can subscribe to both separately

  • c/[community name] is the naming convention used here I think like r/[subreddit name] on Reddit. If talking about a community in a different instance, it's c/[community name]@[instance name] so like c/[email protected]

  • Donations will help with the cost of running lemmy.world only and not lemmy.ml, beehaw.org, etc.

Someone please correct any of this if any of it is wrong, I’ll happily edit

Hope it helps even a little

I feel lucky. The only game I have ever pre-ordered was Battlefield 3 for PS3. Considering it's EA and Frostbite was relatively new, I really lucked out
