I’ve tried running some of the older modules, but they lack the streamlined playability that seems to be a large part of the OSR scene. Keep on the Borderlands, while seminal and deeply influential, doesn’t have a great layout. It’s writing is in big block columns of text that make it challenging to find the information you want when you’re at the table. I tend to like reading through the older adventures for inspiration more than to run them. I find myself gravitating towards newer gonzo adventures like the stuff in DCC.

I've never heard the term NSR either. Maybe something like Dungeon Crawl Classics which has old school flavour with newer styled crunch?
I got a look at one of the patreon previews and I can't wait for the full thing. It looks like it's taken all the accessible bits from the 1st edition, Cairn, Mausritter, etc, and added a nice amount of level progression and comparability with OSR modules. The other thing is how playable it seems. Everything is easy to find, descriptions are terse but evocative, and the crunch is easily understood. I'm so excited.
I totally get it. Black metal has that almost white noise vibe where the dynamics are really constant and almost soothing. Especially when it's so atmospheric and you can lose yourself in it.
I never really listen to Phish, but I always go to their shows when they're in town. The chillest, most welcoming crowd I've ever been in. It rules.
I bet you're right. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some allusions to it in some videos. Have you watched it?
my. fucking. mum.
That's very heartening to hear! It's nice to see the community is bigger than I thought
I've always wanted to sit next to someone playing music out of their phone on public transit and play the heaviest shit imaginable right beside them ahaha
Judas Priest, Megadeth, and King Gizz.
What exactly is it? I've seen it on reddit and it seems to have something to do with Ukraine,
I think the main rules and crunch are all free, but if you want all those sweet worldbuilding tables you need the deluxe edition. Could be mistaken tho
