My wife and I walked into a Subway recently to use the restrooms. Not an employee in sight. Did our business and walked out without seeing a single person. I would have thought they were closed had the lights not been on and the door unlocked. Don’t know how they stay in business.

My company uses several Thinkpad models. By far the worst are the X1 Carbon Gen 9 and 10. The gen 9s especially die all the time. We generally see more issues with thin and light models in general. We don’t really see many issues with T14 or T15.

The company I work for has a contract with HP to provide and service the printers. My department uses a printer everyday. In addition to internal use we print receipts and documents for clients who sometimes only have a few minutes to wait. We have been told that our printers are going to be removed because we don’t print enough. Our page count isn’t high enough to justify the cost from HP, despite the fact that we literally can’t do our jobs without them. The result of this is that we’ll have to walk the floor until we find an available cloud printer, no matter how far away or inconvenient it is. For corporations it’s all about the numbers. Metrics, budget, etc. How it affects their employees doesn’t matter to them.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the reports of the chants as "horrific" and "appealing" at the time of the incident.

You mean “appalling”, right? Hope that was a typo.

Costco food court lids come to mind. They have a hole near the side where you can either use a straw or drink directly.

Not just Mac OS. I’m also experiencing this issue on iOS 17.0 (21A5291j) on iPhone 14 Pro. The weather widget on my Lock Screen keeps saying location off and when I open Weather, Maps, or other apps that use location services, they ask for permissions again. This seems to happen randomly and it retains permissions as long as I keep the apps open in the background.

My cat would live up there. We have a curio cabinet by the front door and the top of it is her spot. She likes to hang out there, silently judging us and chases the shadows from the nearby window.

I don’t know if it’s this beta or something else, but my stickers haven’t been working. When I tap on stickers it just pulls up a blank page. Additionally, some third party sticker apps just aren’t showing up at all and the edit option (for removing iMessage apps) is missing. Maybe one of my apps is screwing with it somehow, but I haven’t heard of anyone else having these issues.

Where I work, we send emails to users from their tickets. They are expected to reply to the emails, but sometimes they ignore the email and message us on Teams. If we give in and reply to their message, they tend to think they can message us for anything little thing. So then we become their personal IT guy. I’ve had to mute and hide people because they wouldn’t leave me alone. It’s like they don’t realize we are busy with other work. Go through the proper channels. Once you have a ticket, we will email you. IMing us is like trying to cut in line.
