I agree. I hate the trend of moving away from information density. It may seem silly, but it's the number one reason I can't use an iPhone.

A few important character moments are in TAS. The animation is awful, but some of the stories are very good. It's short anyway, I recommend watching it.

Like, I get that they have good hardware, but their software is annoying as hell.
I disliked Samsung devices' software even more than I disliked iOS. Neither of them hold a candle to the Pixel experience.
