I can sideload any app I want, and install open source apps from F-Droid

Going to shoutout Jerboa for Lemmy, it's working really well surprisngly even though it's in a very early stage of development.

I can use projects like ReVanced to install modified apps effortlessly, and don’t have to go through the AltStore/Apple Developer BS to install simple things like uYou

I don't know how Apple plans to handle the EU law for sideloading, but currently you can only sideload an app for 7 days with free software like AltStore, it's really not fun lol.

I can entirely replace my home screen with a different launcher app if I wanted to

Launchers are such a game changer, I hope they continue to thrive!

I recently started using Niagra Launcher, love the minimal design it has.

Very detailed! I agree with everything, but I especially dislike the data usage aspect of it, it just eats up data like crazy, especially on a 5G network, oh and the battery drain on my phone too.

Nice middle-ground!

Plexamp is awesome, and the UI/UX is gorgeous in my opinion!

I had 500 songs downloaded for offline listening, but had an issue with my carrier in the middle of a work day which left me without an internet connection… And this freaking app didn’t let me listen to the songs I already had downloaded. Noped right out of there.

Dude that sucks! This is one of my greatest concerns as we enter web 3.0 and give control over to companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc.

I now use this library of FLAC files on Music Bee, a free software that looks awesome. When I connect my phone to my PC, Music Bee converts all songs to high bitrate MP3 and syncs with the phone - I then use an open source music player to listen to them.

It must be a nice feeling having high quality flac files that you can play without any DRM nonsense when you want and how you want. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Killer combo. Is the 64 Audio U12t an endgame IEM for you? Lately I’ve been really into IEM’s as they’re more practical for my usecase, and in this summer heat they definitely play into the comfort factor.

I currently have an Android phone that uses the LDAC codec, is there an audible difference between a higher resolution codec, or is AAC perfectly fine?

I've heard the ZMF Atrium are like a super version of the HD 600, what do you think?

Yeah I did mean my dac/amp, and thanks for the info! Windows has caused so many audio headaches, so I'm relieved to hear that I can just plug in my stuff and I'm off to the races!

Awesome, I’m thinking of moving from Windows to Mac in the future, is installing and using an external dac/amp just a plug and play situation, or should I read up on how audio works on MacOS?

DT 1990 Pro are amazing for gaming, I almost feel like I’m cheating if I use them lol
