I'm American and the main reason I don't aim the same criticism towards other countries is that I'm American and don't know enough about them. Maybe some people are agitating for malign purposes, but how much does that matter to a responsible netizen? No one knows who anyone is - maybe idiot takes are made by idiots or bad actors, it doesn't change much. Lastly, one quote stuck with me after the last election season : " the reactionary is always right about what is wrong but almost always wrong about what would be right"
Things like this are causing real dissonance for me. We've got people doing amazing, important, next-level development - alongside our Idiocracy slide. If it was just doom on the horizon, I feel like things would be simpler to process. I guess that kind of thinking gives rise to accelerationism.
I like that it's sister cities with Dull, Scotland. Maybe another too?
Hoping to buy a house and have more projects than I have time for! By the way, angle grinders are absurdly dangerous when used even slightly non-standard. Take a look please. https://youtu.be/o-imZgxAyIE?si=yTvJ1-KddA3duOvL Angle grinder rotation speed is enormous compared to circular saws.
I have trouble cutting straight with saws too. Switching to a Japanese pull saw has helped a ton, and they can be bought online for like $20
I read that as Sid Meier at first and wasn't sure why it was a story. After figuring it out, I'm still not sure
I've been wondering about this for a little while now. Us regularish working class folks can technically participate in the stock market and benefit from the same gains that rich folks can, traditionally, that is. What happens when wealth gets concentrated enough that the rich don't need our 401k contributions anymore, and can shut us out via private capital and backroom deals? It kind of feels like that's how we transition from late stage capitalism to neo-feudalism
Kugrash?
as others have said, "yes" most people have the misfit drawer. We always called it the "horrible drawer_ because ladles and can openers and things would often catch and make it hard to open. I say embrace it, everyone deserves love even if not everyone fits in perfectly
Or big enough echo chambers do
Impressive dedication to avoiding standard fun!
Macho posturing always looks like cowardice.
But I get the vibe that he's more just doing rational CEO shit. Kiss the brown ring, increase shareholder value
