In fact, shouldn't even consider these people human right?

Like the guy in the video considers all Palestinians less than human, hence his confidence in threatening and screaming at checks notes UNICEF workers? πŸ€”

When I had my clearance, we were told if we had a conversation with a foreign national at a bar, we had to disclose it, even after we had already received our clearance.

I was put through a multi-hour polygraph interview from hell, where I was told I didn't know how to breathe and was threatened with being failed and losing my clearance, because I was having issues remembering online foreign penpals from high school.

But motherfucker is talking to Putin on the regularly, and he's a billionaire with billions worth of government contracts? Tell me again, US Government, why any of your citizens should give a fuck about anything, again?

I'm 30 next month, I joined the military right out of high school, and I specifically remember them teaching us a bit about 401k's because of our ability to participate in TSP.

The instructor very clearly told us, the average American needs $1 million in their retirement account when they to to retire to live comfortably. Not extravagantly, comfortably.

Just a couple weeks ago I saw an article saying the average American now needs $2 million in their retirement account to be to retire comfortably, and this is assuming they don't have a mortgage payment, etc.

So in 11 years, the amount needed to retire comfortably has doubled, and yet my wages haven't doubled... Minimum wage hasn't increased in decades, sure they're talking about $15/hr now, but that should've been 10 years ago. With inflation, minimum wage should be around $26/hr, yet even in my blue state, it's like $15.60/hr or something, it's barely over $15.

Throw in the recent news about the inevitable and quickly approaching AMOC collapse and the climate hellscape that's going to come with it... Our futures were robbed from us for profit, and even if I started making triple what I make now, I'll never be able to retire, nor do I even have a retirement account anymore (I cashed mine out to help me during some really rough financial times right after the pandemic, y'know, when the government told the average American to go fuck themselves). And I was one of the few among my friends who even had one.

So, like many people around my age, my retirement will either be societal collapse in the next couple decades, or a bullet to the head (if I could even afford the bullet) as I die in old age, homeless, while we probably have six trillionaires at that point.

Ok, and? What consequences are they going to face? How will their quality of life be diminished in any way?

I'll answer for you: none, because we, the little people, do not matter. Period.

BUT, BUT, BUT, WHAT ABOUT THE STOCK MARKET!?!?!?! πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

I'm fucking ashamed to be a veteran of this shithole of a country.

Are you saying the driver is wearing the seatbelt, the passenger(s) aren't?

And how does the death result? Is it because of an accident? Are they messing/moving around in the car? Are they legally allowed to not be wearing a seatbelt in the vehicle?

There's too many undefined variables I think for anyone to give you a solid answer.

America: our mail system is. USPS processes 23.5 million packages per day, and processes and delivers 318 million pieces of mail every day, to every single household in America, 6 days per week (7 days per week for packages).

They will throw mail sacks onto the backs of donkeys and trek them down into the Grand Canyon to deliver to tribes down there. They will deliver by bike, plane, boat, truck, car, etc. Hell, name any other organization where you could hand someone a letter and $0.62 and ask them to take it to Alaska for you, and they'd say no problem.

"Post" roads in the U.S. are named as such because they were roads built specifically for the movement of "post" across the country, and people have even argued that USPS (then the Postal Service) created the layout of the country as we know it.

And despite what many may think or know, USPS is incredibly efficient when it comes to mail and delivery compared to other countries. I remember them telling us during our orientation (I used to be a mail carrier) that back around 2013, representatives from USPS were actually flown to Germany to teach and help them start delivering 6-days per week. USPS taught Germany how to be more efficient at something πŸ˜‚

Saw another article that puts the 10th percentile of AMOC collapse around 2037, and 90th percentile around 2062, both from these same scientists.

I think we'll be lucky to make it to 2040, personally.

Not a motorcycle, but my car was hit (along with several others) by a guy evading the police. I wasn't even in it, we were in a city and cars were parked along the street, and he came over a hill, ran a red light, t-boned someone, and then bounced against a bunch of cars down the street.

When I got the police report, I filed a claim with my insurance, which was the same insurance company as the criminal. They originally told me that, "There were 7 vehicles involved in this accident, and other vehicles were damaged much worse than yours, so we're not sure if his policy will cover all of the damage... So we'll have to file the claim under your policy, you'd just have to pay your deductible."

Absolutely not, I told her. "Well Sir, you have to unders-"

"No, ma'am, YOU need to understand that your customer's inability to be a responsible citizen is NOT my problem, and I am NOT having my premiums go up, or paying my deductible, when I did absolutely nothing wrong." After escalating to a manager and giving her an earful while threatening to drop my policy with them effective immediately, they miraculously realized his policy would cover the damage to my car. Easy day, right?

Now, I'll be honest: The damage to my car was completely cosmetic, but I was poor and could have really used some extra cash, hence why I was pursuing it. Well, brought the car in to be looked over by the insurance folks, and the assessed damage was like $800. Cool, I asked her for my check so I could go home.

"Oh, well, Sir, you still have a lien on the vehicle, and normally we would send it to your bank, and they would tell you where to go and then pay the repair shop."

Oh, cool, well, that's not what we're doing, I already have a shop lined up, I said, but needed the money for the parts.

Big tall dude comes over, also an insurance employee, as the woman and I are going back and forth, and he chimes in and goes, "Well, Sir, y'know, typically the bank holding the lien wants to handle these things, and, y'know, if the repairs aren't made and they repossess the vehicle, you could owe the repair costs."

My response: "Huh, fascinating. Sounds like a conversation between my bank and I, and with all due respect, I don't understand who you are to have that discussion on their behalf."

"Just cut him the check," as he walks away.

I fucking hate insurance companies.

This is where I'm at. These changes to the climate are going to exponentially compound on each other, and feed back into each other.

Like, we're causing a 6th mass extinction event, and people really think we're going to be able to reverse that and all of the hell that will come with it? Ocean currents are going to collapse, and you (not you specifically, OC) don't think that's going to snowball other issues both inside and outside the ocean?

We're fucked, our futures were robbed from us because of entitlement and greed, and I'm supposed to give a flying fuck about anything because why? Society says so? Society fucked us over, it could all collapse tomorrow for all I care, as a species, we fucking deserve it.
