Probably because 133F is the forecast and not actually recorded yet. Weather could change and it might not hit 133F

Though I wouldnt be surprised if we do hit 133F in the west coast, everywhere is scorching at the moment

Cooking is not so much of a generational thing and more of a time/convenience thing. Some people just don't have time to cook. They could be working double jobs, working late hours, etc. And some people just don't want to cook or like the convenience of take out food. Nothing wrong with that

Nothing wrong with tap, it's the best choice if your city has proper mechanisms to ensure tap water quality. Unfortunately not all cities invested in good infrastructure. Theres still a couple of US cities with either bad pipes or local water pollution
