A week before Pride last year, my town was dripping in rainbows. The march is this coming Saturday and I have seen maybe 4 or 5 in town and all on businesses, people are nervous .
We've decided that we'd rather not risk marking our house out and aren't putting one up either.
17 years ago my husband and I were visiting a friend in Nova Scotia to see if we wanted to move here (we did) and she knew Dan Blenkinship and arranged for a private tour of the site, so we got to see the money pit, 10X and had tea with Dan and his wife. I've just finished The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz.
I thought was an interesting discourse about urbanism, capitalism, gender and environmentalism. It fell a bit flat in parts, but the ideas around personhood and responsibility were thoughtfully done.
