Magnetic charging sounds like almost exactly what I'm looking for. Have it on my watch and phone but didn't think about the flashlight for it. That's great.

It sounds to me like the industry is set up to fuck over the talent pretty hard on streaming residuals, but it's real hard to garner much sympathy for people crying about only earning $900/day and only having to do that 4 days a month. Yeah, taxes suck for everyone. We don't get managers and publicists and lawyers to help with any of that shit. Even if you blow out half of your check, that's a huge number of advantages none of the rest of us can reasonably expect at any job. $1800 a month doesn't cover rent in NY, but can you name another job that can clear that much working only 4 days out of the month? I'm sorry you have to part time to make up the difference, but that's the reality for pretty much everyone. I know people working 3 jobs who don't make $900 a day. They just happen to work a lot more to make up the difference.

All of that being said, residuals from just bojack should probably be more than $26k a year. What are the numbers for revenue generated by that series alone per year? $26k has to be a drop in the bucket

Drink electrolytes (like gatorade) in addition to plenty of water. Do not substitute Gatorade for water. Your body needs electrolytes but only in moderation. Shade will do more for water conservation than you realize. If you stop sweating and you are still hot, stop what you are doing immediately and go drink more water. If you are doing everything right, your piss should be clear or very light in color. If you have dark piss, go drink more water.

Something very screwy going on with the numbers in this article. Says this family made 7.6 million dollars recycling 178 tons of cans and bottles over 8 months. Then it says another group was caught doing basically the same thing the year before but made over 10 million dollars recycling only 9 tons of cans and bottles. Wtf?

Both sides obviously have their merrit. I can see how mistborn would appeal to a wider fantasy audience, but I came at the cosmere looking to explore magical systems. Elantris and Warbreaker scratch that itch very well, though they can definitely be overwhelming for someone new to fantasy in general. It's hard enough to sell anyone on long format books these days without having soft prerequisites on top of it all.

As someone who started with elantris and then proceeded to warbreaker, id have to disagree. Elantris captured my interest with its relatively simple, defined magic system. Its a blast discovering it right along with the characters, who drive the story. Then warbeaker comes along and shows me how esoteric and subjective the magic system can be, which sets me up perfectly to wonder at the powers we get drip fed in the stormlight archive. While SH is great to get into right after finishing Era 1 of mistborn, I feel like it pulls back the curtain a little too much a little too quickly to properly allow for the reader to grasp most of the context of what happens.

Codex Alera started as a drunken bet between Jim and another party that he couldn't write a series on just two wildly disparate concepts. They were "pokemon" and "the lost Roman legion" lmao idk about your feelings but book series founded on foolish drunken bets probably don't deserve much respect. This is a wondrous exception to that rule.
