Happy Ishtar !

I mean happy Easter not the pagan orgy holiday represented by eggs and rabbits etc that we all participate in for some reason

Scirocco's always handled well . Almost scary sometimes. A good friend had a real nice g60 swap back in the 90's and he would eat us all up on the backroads. I could see a 12v keeping that thing planted.

I just preferred the 8v's in the mk2's , always felt screwy digging into a turn with the VR . It was a blast in a straight line

I've got a new set of koni yellow front shocks for a scirocco that need a good home but I haven't seen one on the road anywhere in my area for a long time. It's a shame because they are iconic cars!

Yeah I was thinking of just welding a short piece of tube stock directly to the CA to bolt the link. Now seeing yours there is definitely enough travel in the sway bar to even go higher

ALH swapped TT is a cool ride . My buddy has done a few ...just sayn 😁

Yeah when my truck went tits up ( 2007 tacoma 4cyl 4x4) I was devastated. Wanted to drive it forever but finding that 2trfe 4cyl was impossible, truck was mint, sold it for 5k cash to some clowns that were going to run it through an auction. They probably made a few k , it ran on 3 cylinders ...I should have kept it and did an ALH swap I had an ALH wagon ready to donate but wasn't thinking right at the time ☹️

Had a 00 golf that needed a lot of work and already had a votex rack for some reason. Couldn't stop working so I redid all the running gear , timing belt , every sensor etc and it picked up the slack. Made me think what the hell is the point of a truck in this day and age.

Picked up the 03 jetta for $700 , needs a clutch ,timing belt and a few other goodies I already have laying around ( started hoarding ALH parts like I do with every other VW I've had) . I've always been an oil pan scraping , coilovers as low as possible savage and thought 🤔 this one is going up and will be my truck !

I'm going to use the jeep springs and shock/ strut extensions for the travel. I'm thinking this will be best for the increase in load with the trailer.

How did you lift yours ?

  • yeah the old guy seems like a character . He was happy about the loose change ...I would be too

Oh wow that's nice ! I would have never understood that from a description.

10 years ago when I couldn't care less about a mk4 or audi TT's my buddy was scrapping them left and right out of his shop. All I cared about was mk2's. Wish I knew then what I know now 😕

Awesome ! Cool video . I'm going to check out the rest of the series.

Picked up a 03 jetta TDi for my next project and I'm going the lifted/ all terrain tire route with a trailer to replace my truck. I can't justify the truck prices these days. My golf with roof rack has been doing everything I need as far as hauling lumber , water heaters etc and she's lowered!

I'm going to be doing injector upgrades and a tune as well so It will be a little rally car in a sense ( especially with the wild Hella lightbar i picked up 🤣). Interior will be gutted behind the driver/ passenger seat for tool storage and my doggo .

Might do a build thread on here 🤙

I have not , my sister has an app like that , possibly the same one , I'll have to ask her about it.

My father is pretty good with bird identification and would always point them out on walks in the woods.

I got hooked on field guides after getting a few as a kid for birthdays etc. I've collected several editions of Petersons and National Audubon field guides . I highly recommend both . NA has actual pictures but Peterson's have rendered images of the birds in flight, their seasonal plumage and are a bit more comprehensive .

That would have been a memorable experience ! Nature kicks ass ! I too am a fan of blue birds of all kinds. Im lucky enough to have dozens of bluebirds, quite a few indigo bunting and a whole mess of Bluejays flying around my home. A few other notable birds I get to see regularly are piliated woodpeckers ( the big woody woodpecker types) , yellow flickers and my personal favorite ( which really arent that special but theyre my #1 for their personality alone) the Carolina wren.

Wish I wouldn't have seen the blue shitbird though

I was looking at a car this guy was selling , we're standing there talking about a price and this amazing blue dove lands a few feet away. It's was fucking saphire blue.

The guy selling the car looks at me and says "wooooah I've never seen a blue bird like that before". He was blown away.

I said "are you sure buddy because there's a port a John business right around the corner and that bird has been swimming in one of the shit houses"

I did not buy the car

Like you said there are no wrong answers ! I can only add that I did check out " the Dead" at Merriweather in 04 , if my fuzzy brain remembered correctly , it could have been 03 though.

It was a blast , good music , good vibes...the fuzz was out of control in the lot though . Rolled solo and bumped into a bunch of people and it was a party. ✌️

Ahh . Did you just weld the mount to the top of the control arm ? I can picture in my head how I would do it I suppose. Did you use an OEM sway bar link or adjustable ( I could see an adjustable link coming in handy) ?

It's been hard to find the mk1TT's around my area for some time. I went ahead and ordered the eurosport lower CA brace , it seems a bit beefier than the TT model but I do keep my eyes peeled for the other items that swap over

  • edit- could have sworn there was a TT control arm (possibly a very early version) that had a spot that could be tapped but was left blank that's why I was asking ✌️
