Oh wow, a comment after all this time!
Thanks! We were considering big bumpers a while ago, but they're getting hard to find. Plus, the main reason we'd get them is to house an intercooler, but there are smaller option available now that fit in front of the radiator If you have any VW content, please post it!
Ha ! Yeah I just came over here...exploring ather sites beyond reddit Lol. Im hoping this place gets more traffic!
I think ECS has repros. I've had a lot of mk2's since the 90's and was always a fan of the US small bumpers with the fat trim. Euro bumpers are my second favorite , both look good with the 16v lower spoiler 🤌.
A 1.8t swap is always nice , I've had one 12v mk2 and it just wasn't fun on the twisties, too heavy in the front end. My favorite swap ( I've had) was the ABA / cross-flow.
I'm trying to figure out why I can't post pics but I'll get it figured out soon 🤙
I'm hoping traffic will pick up on here as well. I came over after the last exodus from reddit and it's been slow going in the car communities That's too bad to hear that a 12v is too heavy for a Mk2! I have a 12v in my Scirocco, and it still handles the same as it did with the 8v, but the big ol 26mm H&R rear sway bar definitely helps lol. I should dig up the imgur album I put together for it and post it here. I think people still use imgur here, but I've also seen people using catbox, which I haven't looked into
Scirocco's always handled well . Almost scary sometimes. A good friend had a real nice g60 swap back in the 90's and he would eat us all up on the backroads. I could see a 12v keeping that thing planted.
I just preferred the 8v's in the mk2's , always felt screwy digging into a turn with the VR . It was a blast in a straight line
I've got a new set of koni yellow front shocks for a scirocco that need a good home but I haven't seen one on the road anywhere in my area for a long time. It's a shame because they are iconic cars!
