Every season, you cant really gauge how strong teams are until there are some actual results to go by. All teams have to make offseason cuts, trades, and signings while fitting everyone under the exact same salary cap as every other team in the league. Players get older and lose their edge, just as new players get drafted in, bringing in a whole new energy. Injuries affect starting lineup, and bench players are trying to prove themselves.
It doesn't matter if you have perennial super star players when the rest of the team doesn't perform in all other phases of the game.
Until they establish their 2024 identity, there is nothing to be shocked about.
