Expecting some kind of fight over the leave I've requested. It's during a projected busy period, but it's not my fault they have a resource issue and will be overstretched if they do what they (management) are wanting to do.

This is a great way of looking at it. I mean... if it comes to it I'll speak with HR to find out what my rights are. Because I wonder what happens if it comes down to it and I just don't turn up for three weeks. I've been here for over five years, so I don't think they can just outright fire me. And it's not like I'm sitting here waiting for a promotion, so it's not like I'm trying to be the good egg.

The last few days have been really low
My applications are progressing slow

Threads unravelled, coils unwound
Melancholic sheets between fields of pillows
Speckled with heavy sighs hanging like willows
Their leaves are tears feeding the streams
Of fears that this is all that it seems
chilli cheese bread is being made, sewing kit set up to sew badges on my fluffy jacket ( I have a Ukraine Che Burashka badge, buying things from Ukraine is one way to support them 🐻🔫 ) , calligraphy set to do one page of practice in purple ink , tv on but I'm not really paying attention, fighting russian trolls on the newspaper in progress, tab open for doing some reading

Lament to a Technological Masterpiece
I'm missing my old CD player,
It had a tape deck too.
Where it came from I don't remember,
But it was grey and transparent blue.
Recorded hits off the built-in radio,
Replayed until the tape wore thin.
I guess I sailed some shallow seas,
Before I knew what it was to swim.
If only my PC had a CD player,
I'd burn them all into ones and zeros;
My collection inscribed to the aether.
A future-task for a flush Stud-Hero.
Does anyone know/remember this CD? My Dad had a copy when I was a kid (90s/2000s) and I was able to buy this from the ~~VicPol~~ Blue Ribbon website (which I was stoked about). Anyway, if you're able to get a copy, it has some of the best covers :)

It's so cold, I don't know how anyone exists in this weather
Even the currawongs sound miserable this morning.
Inspection is done. Now I won't have to see her for another six months. But last night we found a crack in the ceiling in the bathroom and you can see the stud pressed against the ceiling. Possibly happened during an Earthquake.
Outlander be like, beautiful Scottish scenery and costumes, but first softcore porn with a side of sexual assault. I won't lie, I don't mind the show (well the first couple of seasons), but I feel like it really could've done well if it had dropped certain things and picked up on others.
