They also released a teaser trailer here that you can check out. This will be the second season of the new Kenshin reboot. The first season of 24 episodes just ended the other day, so this announcement is not too surprising.

I wonder if the pedophile who wrote it gets money for it.

I have been working my way through the 2023 series and it has been...fine. As an adaptation, it has been very faithful to the manga source, but I think a bit to its detriment. The story is slow in the beginning arcs and fairly repetitive. The Shishio arc (which season 2 will be adapting) is really the best arc of the series.

I want to take a moment while I am writing about Kenshin to plug the live action adaptation. I personally think that the live action movies (there are five of them that fully adapt the story) are the best version of Kenshin. They streamline a lot of the story and change some things around, but it makes the whole thing flow better. Also, it is probably some of the best sword choreography I have ever seen in live action. They are really great and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Just throwing in that for me it's been a great first season, and I would've loved for it to be even more faithful to the manga.

If there's people out there who like me have so far disliked a lot of the libraries taken by earlier adaptations, this might just be the the version for them.

Overall I'm looking forward to the next season though personally my favourite part, the initial enishi arc, will be after it and I hope they get to that part in a season 3.
