Hi all. I've chosen Connect For Lemmy as my go-to android lemmy app for now but it has a strange quirk. (Unless this is true?) While trying to search or even access communities, I'm getting an error page telling me that feddit is under maintenance. There's even a banner informing me this across the bottom of the app.

Is this an app bug or something server side?

I suspect that all of the apps (not just connect) are still a bit rough due to the influx of users (with different hardware than was used in testing l) on top of servers being subjected to increased load.

This is part of being an early adopter, I guess.

Hmm you shouldn’t see that message unless I’m doing maintenance which I’m not, can you see the URL the app is trying to access?

I think the servers were taking a hammering on the day. Everything seems to be ok since.

Nope, its happening just now. I was moving from a Lego community back to the feddit.uk community.

I was getting this in the web interface about an hour ago. Given the API issues at Reddit and Elon doing his best to drive people from Twitter, I suspect a lot of the Fediverse is getting hammered this weekend. I just gave it some time and it resolved itself.

edit: for example, see this. I imagine lemmy.world took the brunt of the hit but other larger instances will have been under strain.
