This isn't "setting a precedent," the precedent has already been set. Every game AMD partnered with prior to FSR2 was a loss for gamers. FSR1 was (and is) complete dogass, so the options for playing games like Resident Evil Village with ray tracing or poorly-optimized Far Cry 6 at all are either native resolution, superbly ugly, or unofficial injections of FSR2.

Guess we're already off to a bad start with Starfield's PC performance.

Absolutely, certainly not a precedent, but always a good reminder. It’s a bummer we have absolutely no control over these things beyond making/installing mods ourselves to fix their issues.
