I am new to the nba, I understood teams have a salary cap which prevented astronomical salaries within the sport. Anyone care to enlighten me?

The NBA also has a salary floor, a minimum amount a team needs to spend. Houston was $50 million under the salary floor, so they overpaid Fred to cover most of the floor.

The salary floor? It's to ensure the players make 50% of the NBA revenue. Without the floor it's hard to guarantee enough money is going to the players overall.

NBA salaries have become way too inflated. Makes it a tough fact to digest when watching these games.

It's abit of a slim pickings year to be honest, your ether overpaying or have a prima donna.. As Raps fan FVV is underrated though. But Kyrie got less..

Houston had to hit the salary floor, so they had lots of room to overpay.

Wow. These salaries are crazy! Is this the first domino for Toronto to actually start rebuilding?

Weak FA and they had to reach 90% of the salary cap. Perfect timing for Fred to get a massive bag.

Interesting fit for them if you ask me. Jalen Green and Amen seemed to be a back court of the future. If FVV doesn't fall off a cliff I suppose they could trade him after a year or two of Amen developing, but that's a huge number to move.

Damn that's a big bag. Happy for Fred.
