Israel has informed several Arab states that it wants to carve out a buffer zone on the Palestinian side of Gaza's border to prevent future attacks as part of proposals for the enclave after war ends, Egyptian and regional sources said.

Okay, carve it out of YOUR land, you don't get to demand your neighbors create a buffer zone between them and you

Wouldn't be surprised if they let settlers to move into the 'buffer zone' and lay claim to it and then ask for buffer zone for the buffer zone in a few years.

Probably.

Historically this is in line with the tactics of settler colonization, first they send their people, then they "have to" send their soldiers to enforce the interests of settlers, then annexation for "safety". This is how Hawaii was taken by the US for instance.

I am shocked, shocked, that Israel intends to take more land from the Palestinians.

If only they already had a large area of land that was already annexed that they could use for a buffer zone. /s

"My house isn't big enough. I've built on my neighbors garden and evicted them from their own house so that I can have the space I need. Now if you too would kindly fuck off, I need my private space. Do not test me on this! ".

I'd love to say this won't happen, but when it comes to this conflict most countries are either tacit genocide (also known as "Israel's right to defend itself") supporters, spineless Arab states or countries whose heart is in the right place but don't have the international weight to throw around. I could 100% see this happen after the war ends.

"We promise it won't fill with semi-suicidal settlers in a year"
