A place to share images and art generated by artificial intelligence and similar tools.

Rules:

All posts must be relevant to image generation with artificial intelligence.
Please include the name of the AI or tool used to generate your image at beginning of your post to promote searchability. Example: "[Midjourney] Picture of a lake."
It's not required, but we encourage you to include the prompt used to generate the image in the description of your post.
To avoid spam, please try to limit yourself to five posts a day. Feel free to add as many images to your posts as you'd like.
Please keep NSFW content to a minimum. Risque content is allowed, but pornographic AI art is not. There are plenty of other places to share that. Posts not flagged as NSFW will result in a temporary ban.
Do not self promote your AI tools you created without mod permission. Also any other post about AI tools that seem sketchy will be removed and the user banned at the moderators discretion. Please report a post if you think it should fall in line with breaking this rule.

Any guides or resources for a complete beginner to get started with AI art? (self.ai_art)

I am completely fascinated by AI art, and would like to try my hand at it. I know that most of this boils down to prompt engineering.

Can the community recommend a few resources that can help a complete beginner get bootstrapped quickly?

I am not sure if this post breaks the rule. Please remove it, if that is the case. However, do point me to the right community where I can post this question again.

4. I used an M1 Pro with 32 GB, DiffusionBee produced images within 20 seconds at 25 steps, within 40 seconds at 50 steps.

I have tried a few different generators and settled on midjourney for my primary. there's a decent guide on the website along with tons of guides on YouTube. it requires using discord for now. I got started by getting the midjourney bot set up then just messing around. I use chatGPT as well for specific projects. you can also use camera specs for certain shots that you may be looking for. really you just need to get your bot set up and the creativity flowing. (there are many other options, but this is what I found works best for me)

I agree with @livedeified that Midjourney is probably the best for beginners. It's $10 USD a month for around 200 generations which is plenty to get you started. It uses Discord as a means to interact with the AI which takes some getting used to, but is very convenient.

This should hopefully give you an idea of what kinds of prompts you could try out. Midjourney also has a Docs section with a guide on getting started that you can find here: https://docs.midjourney.com/

The last thing I would push you towards if you're a bit more tech savvy, have a decently powerful PC, and determination is Stable Diffusion. It's free, and runs locally on your PC. It takes heaps of power and is a bit tricky to set up if you haven't done anything like it before, but it does great great results. I actually ended up setting Stable Diffusion on my mac. Though it takes time to generate a photo, it is still free and usable. :-)

There’s https://tao.studio/ which is a free image generator. No limits as to how many prompts you can generate. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it! It launched about 3 weeks ago
