The cap was reduced to 30p/kWh for electricity and 8p/kWh for gas. If you are not on a smart meter, you should submit a new reading as soon as possible to make sure your costs are computed as accurately as possible.

I’ve got a smart meter and they still ask for readings, feels pointless getting it installed

Of course, my monthly direct debit went up by £60 anyway and they won't let me reduce it.

Still a bunch of money grubbers as far as I'm concerned!

I'm with British Gas; I used to be with People's Energy but they unfortunately went bust when prices started going up in 2021.

I wonder if this years Black Friday deals will include energy. A few years back I managed to snag a great deal with a supplier (that ultimately went bump) which was good for a few years and saved us a fortune.
