No, I've changed it.

My reddit name became known to a couple of my friends during the 10 years I was there and I want the total anonymity again.

[–] SeeMinusMinus 5 points 2 years ago

My user name is just too cool to not reuse!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 years ago

Yep, I like the name

[–] Anti_Weeb_Penguin 4 points 2 years ago

I will never change my username

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

This one predates Reddit, and I will use it long after Lemmy.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

I considered it, but I liked the idea that I could actually pick something short and (semi)sweet instead.

Plus, new start and all that.

I have been using this username since I joined the Internet.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

It pretty much encompasses my entire existence so yeah I use it on pretty much everything

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Went on a streak of switching usernames because there were people who had nearly the same username, and coined this one up like 3 years ago and settled with it since. Pretty much use this everywhere except for school and Reddit.

Yes and no. For this account it is linked to my mod page for skyrim, so used the same name. My other accounts were able to get usernames I originally wanted but were unavailable.

[–] schmalls 2 points 2 years ago

Yep, no need to change it up now.

I am using the same username, though not the same display name (as most of these don't have a display name option). Only fitting.

[–] Jabroni 2 points 2 years ago

Nope. I am reborn.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Nope, my old username sucked because everything else was taken.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Nope! Brand new

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I updated.

I changed my username that I use on most things about 6 years ago. But I've been on reddit for 12, so it had the old one.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Yes and no.... in my confusion I ended up with three logins, only one of which is my old username. But I like the sh.itjust.works instance on Lemmy, so I'm sticking with this one. Mrs Doyle is my spirit animal anyway. There's always time for a nice cup of tea.

[–] pangil 1 points 2 years ago

Nope, there's no username that sticks for me. Oh well, good for privacy, I guess...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I made one reminiscent to my old username but figured I’d do a fresh start with a new account.

[–] megane_kun 1 points 2 years ago

I've had this username (or a variation of it) ever since I started using the internet. It helps with the analysis paralysis I usually get when deciding on a new username.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

No, I thought of a better one

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

No, because I used to have the same username everywhere until i became aware how much easier it is to tie that to me. Literally a google search away.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Yep! I use it all across the Internet, not just on Reddit

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

This username has been going with me for two decades. I did use it in Reddit, some years ago, but I deleted that account back then - disgusted at the company.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I typically change my username every few months, so no. Can’t get attached to any one online identity.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I slightly adjust mine for the platform

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

i've had this username since the late 90's.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Since 1997, yes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

On some platforms I do. For Lemmy and YouTube, I figured this would be a good time to rebrand.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Mostly the same one for everything. Depending on if "promitheas" is taken Ill add something to the end to differentiate them

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I don't know.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago
[–] yaboiweeaboojones 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah this is generally my name on everything.

[–] [email protected] -4 points 2 years ago

Yeah, although in hindsight i probably should have taken advantage of the fact that not all the simple short usernames are taken here
