As much as I like browsing the Fediverse with Liftoff, RIF was just such a refined app. At the end RIF was what Reddit could have been.
I get a 429 now, sad times are here.

Apollo is gone as well. Honestly, more legitimately sad than I expected. Mid-scrolling comments it closed out and no longer opens. I think I’d have preferred not to experience its death and it just happened while I slept lol. Memmy on iOS seems to be what I’ll move too and it is rapidly improving, but Apollo was just so damn good. Shucks.
Yeah posting this from Memmy. Really impressed with how far the app has improved in just a week to two.
So sad. I'm enjoying the fediverse so far but it just doesn't have the userbase to support the more niche communities I enjoy on reddit.
This is how I'm feeling right now too. I'm hopeful that the userbase will expand quickly though.
I think it's the perfect blank canvas for us to start building of the kinds of communities we want to see here

Anyone know which lemmy app is most similar to rif? I've been using jerboa which is decent. OP mentioned liftoff which isn't quite my style. I'd prefer being able to see 10+ posts at a time like I could do in rif.

Baconreader user here. Same fate as the rest of the good apps. Trying out Jeroba for the Fediverse. Seems nice so far.
I am still using Apollo with my own key. But well RIP to the apps. Will be missed.
I have Infinity installed with my own key, but I realized how much reddit kinda sucks so I just stopped using it overall anyways.
Can’t really stop using Reddit since I mod a university sub. But yea it went to shit for sure.
One day your university 'sub' will be a uni hosted instance on ActivityPub, possibly Lemmy.
I really hope that happens but for now nobody moved even when I created a Lemmy instance for them.

The RIF dev probably revoked this API key himself before to reddit admins got the chance.
