Every time I open the site I have to manually log back in, even if I just click my bookmark while still on the site. Does anyone know if this is intentional or if there's a way I can get it to stay logged in?

I believe I have identified the issue! Fix coming soon.

If you already pushed the update then it's worked, otherwise it might have just been a bug on my end. I was still logged in when I opened my bookmark this time.

Good to hear, if it helps at all I have a bit more info. I’ve found that I’ll get logged out in a tab (tab 1), refreshing the page or navigating to another page on Lemm.ee, I remain logged out. However, if I open a link from tab 1, in a new tab (tab 2), I will be logged in on tab 2.

I have cleared my cookies and the issues remain. I’m running Safari on iPadOS 16.5.1. I have also noticed the same issue with Lemmy.world.

I’m happy to provide more info or test if it is helpful. Thanks for running an excellent instance!

Hey, it's not intentional & also not typical in my experience.

The login is based on a cookie, are you perhaps using any browser extensions that delete cookies? Lemmy does not use any kind of tracking cookies, so such an extension would only serve to log you out of Lemmy. But if you're not using anything like that, then I would be curious to hear what browser you're using - maybe I can try and reproduce the issue.

Same here, happens pretty often.
