when things get too real for me_irl

For relatable posts that are too real for !me_irl. Meaning jokes/posts about mental health issues and self deprecating humour.

This is a subreddit for memes that hit too close to home or are too real for communities like !me_irl

If you have depression, talk to a therapist, it really does help. You are not alone, and recovery is possible and worth it.

If you find jokes about suicide, depression or self harm upsetting, this sub might not be the right place for you. This is a place for people who use self deprecating humor as a coping mechanism, not for those making fun of mental illness.

With that out of the way, the rules are as follows:

Not seen this in decades, but I remember it was traumatising.

Yes, it's called the land before time in English

Oh wait that's almost exactly the same "In a land before our time" as I know it. The days when movie titles weren't changed into unrecognizability...

It's worse because it's not wrong. The movie was released in 1988 and the recommended age to start screening was lowered to age 45 because of the increase in colorectal cancers among young people.

Someone who is 45 in 2023 would be born in 1978.

Okay I didn't know the recommended age to get the exam done, just went off the meme. My parents had this on VHS and I'll be damned if I didn't have this thing on all day and night hahaha. Im a 1998 child though so I got some time yet!
