Nearly 100% of comments on News videos are conspiracy theory nutjobs. Who are they talking to exactly? It's so baffling.

It has to be the sort of content you're watching... most of the time I'm watching tech news, nature sports, cars and engineering-related stuff and if I ever come across that sort of post, it's one in a hundred or so. I have heard that YouTube will often recommend videos that drive negative engagement, so maybe that has something to do with it?

I think with news and politics it's a lot of hoping for confrontation or reinforcement of whatever views they have.

I occasionally leave comments directed at creators if the background music is too loud to clearly make out what they are saying, if the title came off as unclear clickbait (LTT), or why I unsubscribed (shifting away from their usual content to Youtube drama) for example.
