Arknights is a free-to-play mobile Tower Defense gacha game developed by Hypergryph. Lemmy users, please visit the original instance for the full rules. But TL;DR, No NSFW art, very low effort shitposts, english only, no AI art, no excessive self-promo.

im coming here from reddit, i dont really like discord because the conversation flow is too fast and my questions would likely to be buried..

what i dont like from kbin the most is i need to scroll to the bottom of the page just to reply.. meh

Hopefully that's changed soon, but there should be scripts on m/kbinStyles in the mean time

@TheTheMeet @Xperr7 Yeah I can see that, I would say I am more inclined to forum like as more people can see and even if it's watched same as chat it's still discussion that can cascade and easily tracible, while chat if you gone for a day you lost any interaction and have to bring up topic people already gone past through. Kbin even if buggy is best place in terms of political views and discoverability compared to lemmy. Fediverse is just a cake on top that can make reddit obsolete "garden".

Well, coming over here for one. Ruminating on how to make this place what I want it to be. Shame I know fuckall about search engine optimization and community-building.

Yea, definitely been a bit of a learning curve, but hey, what new site hasn't?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not quite a learning curve (about the same as Reddit was, back in the day), moreso the grand struggle to populate pages. Even m/Arknights is smaller than it ought to be. Sure, it's young, but for all the explosive growth people are bandying about, it worries me if none of it manages to trickle down to more specific communities.

[email protected] and such are all well and good, but how do we get people over via search engine when Reddit is actively prioritized by Google? How do you get people onto Mastodon when it's such a comparative pain to get to the content you want?

This is a lot of hand-wringing for what amounts to like 1hr of my time a day, but I'm a hand-wringing sort of person.

@MonsieurHedge @Xperr7 Yeah like add to that some bugs in the system when Mastodon User can reply normally, but bot that you somehow scramble to do the most lazy way won't show up on Kbin. You can find instance owner but an ArknightsEN bot won't show up in search. And with these bugs around you have to explain people what they can do here and why sometimes they can speak sometimes can't how to track things from Mastodon, Why # from mastodon show up on kbin but not otherwise...

@Xperr7 Just to be clear, all kotking's and catgirls-gallery are me. 1 Mastodon, This Kbin, 1 main Hubzilla and 2 catgirls one I made from same main hubzilla account. So hubzilla basically I am mini admin on it and can make accounts=webpages... So Fediverse is fantastically dumb idea. Mastodon has Verification mark but it require having a website of your own...Still didn't work out how to make it work with Hubzilla.

Also to explain that there are more to Fediverse than just Mastodon(Calkey) , Kbin , Lemmy. Here list to look at#^FediDB - Fediverse Network Statistics

Fediverse Network Statistics

. IF you are tech guy and explore these things you are like wow, but even if I try out hubzilla to test things out, Maaan Hubzilla such a confusing web site constructor, like I have 0 web design so I look at words and... yeah cool....

So Mastodon. Mastodon compared to twitter, which is decent comparison. Biggest difference is Mastodon does not promote you. You are getting and losing followers by your actions and not by getting less appearance on the timeline.
Mastodon.social is the biggest and have hard cap on word for 500, other instances redacted those caps or added title in the Mastodon, which makes it more incline to forums. Kbin/Lemmy the most useful to search and speak type of forum. Due all bugs that's happening, it's less than ideal or barely working if you try to fediverse it.

Test, idk how my kbin.social account could not make it here..

Im trying wefwef, turns out making an id from lemmy.world is easier than beehaw.org or lemmy.one or lemmy.ml

My applications for beehaw even got rejected. Fuck it

@Xperr7 Trying to work out how to use Federation protocol to the max and getting stuck on unexpected bugs. I will do some shenanigans and reply to myself in a chain of fediverse accounts to see if it even works or when it breaks. Also will tag #mArknights to see how it will look like, so please bear with me on this experiment.

@Kotking Seems like Hubzilla works same way as Mastodon in terms of seeing messages. It's sees only Topic starter and immediate responses/reply's. I hope my reply will not go to topic starter but to direct

User

. Also playing around with styles that are

available

to hubzilla. Will post screenshots how Hubzilla looks like in terms of interaction with fediverse, kbin in this case, as reply to this post. Hubzilla is a good starting point for little projects, but for discoverability and interaction better use Kbin site. Mastodon is also good for discoverability but you have to use hastags like #marknights that we force for our magazine use, adding more hashtags means more people can stumble upon you but you can only search via 1 hashtag which limits scope compared to using kbin to search for info. So you can use any fediverse compatible site to talk if you paste web address of the post/message/ etc in the search field of your own service/instance.
