they were assigned to doctoring, and had plenty of food that they were allowed to eat, they just gave up

this colony had only one colonist, so I don't know who they were waiting for to tend it

food restriction: lavish

maybe you didn't have lavish meals ready?

that's the default, it means they are allowed to eat anything lavish or below

Bette to die pracefully and as comfortable as possible. Therrfore, tending takes priority.
