A community dedicated to the universe of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop setting in the far, distant future.

This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.

Rules

  1. Keep it civil.
  2. No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
  3. Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
  4. No political or social cause agenda pushing.

Phone camera isn't great, but it does well enough.

Very vibrant. Which chapter is this?

It's my own chapter! Back when I started 40K, I wanted to paint my marines to look like the Half-Life HEV Suit, but I still don't have a good chapter name.

Awesome! Would love to see them all arrayed for battle.

I'm always amazed by how steady everyone's hands are that paint these.

Mine would be like a toddlers crayon doodle.

You ever type out a whole reply only to realise the person you're replying to wasn't asking for advice?

Anyways, besides just getting more experience, the best trick I've found is to find a way to brace both of your elbows while you paint. For me, this is usually by leaning back in my chair and bracing against my sides or knees. There's also a lot of edges that you can paint by using the side of the bristles instead of the tip, which gives a wider margin of error.

Thanks for listening to my paint ramblings I'm too deep into this hobby haha
