it started popping up on lemmy 0.18 instances for me and it's inconsistent, sometimes refreshing or updating the feed or even posting something there would make the buttons pop up (as new elements that is).
I can't interact with them so something is definitely wrong.
It’s a known UI issue. If you interact with the community by changing sort or something it should come back normally.
If you make the browser window smaller Sidebar + appears. Pressing it shows the buttons as they should be
Ahhh I was wondering why it worked fine on my phone but on PC it took a bunch of refreshes, but didn't put the 2 and 2 together. Thank you!

Same here, my workaround is I try not to reload the page or open the page in new tab. If it happened to me, I just close the tab then open main page then navigate to the same page from there.
