Hey everybody, how you all feel like Indy 5 is going to perform this weekend? Anybody goes some last minute predictions?

Personally feel like this movie is gonna tank. Apparently the budget for Dial of Destiny over $300m and the last one was so bad. Is anybody asking for more Indiana Jones? I would be surprised if this broke 250 world wide box office.

Its going to be actually atrocious. Audiences are more discerning(read: review-sensitive) than ever, and the only buzz around the movie sounds more like corpseflies. It feels like the space for middling hits has just disappeared overnight and movies either bomb or make it big. I have my theories as to why that is, but I'd love to hear yours.

I think a lot of what has to do with how movies either boom or bust is mostly up to the budget. Indy 5 is budgeted at 300m. That is just an insanely high price for ANY movie, let alone one that isn't 100% guaranteed to be a hit. If they were able to spend a reasonable amount on the film (100m?) and not blow out the budget, it would probably make some profit. Its like these studios think if they just spend more they will for sure make it back, regardless of quality.

I’m rather impressed, and saddened, that Indy 5 is looking to outdo Flash’s monumental flop so soon. If multiple massive flops are to hit, they should at least have the decency to space themselves out. It’s kind of sad at this point.

I'm not interested in seeing Indy as an old man beaten down in life. Whoever came up with this concept doesn't understand what I loved about Indy. The adventure, the free spirit way of being...so I guess many people will kind of hard-pass on this.
