From the few reviews I've quickly scanned, this phone seems to be the dream device for those who want a compact phone. The major complaints I've heard mainly revolve around the camera being subpar or just a bit basic.

Personally speaking, I've gotten consistently good shots from a Zenfone 9, and the video stabilization on that device was amazing. In my opinion, if this is just positively iterating on the previous year, the camera should be suitable for your average consumer. Maybe not the "pro tool" they seem to be touting it as, but I'm more personally hoping for a more robust video recording focus.

What are your thoughts? Will you utilize the 16gb of RAM ๐Ÿ‘€? (on the 16/512gb model for confusion)

also, it has a headphone jack ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

Asus has always been big on letting you customize your smartphone, to the point that there are two modes for most changes: "Stock Android" or "Asus Optimized." These two modes can be chosen from your settings, and when setting up your device, you can choose one or the other. It changes how your notifications look, your volume panel, and your power menu

Tim Schofield shows that in his video at 5:13, and from 7:03 onwards. The Asus Optimized looks more feature-rich but the design is clearly pre-Android-12 and clashes with some of the modern Android design elements. I guess it's especially for those people who want the old notification drawer design back. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I noticed that, seems neat to give us the option to be stubborn!

I still wish it had microSD but wireless charging is a nice plus over the Zenfone 9! Also would prefer a zoom lens vs a wide angle, but not as big a deal to me. Unfortunately I'm (hopefully) not going to be looking for an upgrade for a good few years since I just upgraded to the S23, but I'd seriously be considering this if I were still looking. Only hypothetical issue for me would be missing out on a lot of the extra features Samsung packs into OneUI and GoodLock...those software things that I interact with and need every time I use my phone are what ultimately convinced me to stick with Samsung (previously had an S10e) despite losing the jack and microSD :/
