I first remember reading about room temp superconductors (RTS) when scientific american did a cover page article on them back in the 1990s.

Then it was about the coming age of RTS and how it would transform our lives. Which they would do if they could be economically produced and used.

Since then there have been several claims like this but none have survived independent review or attempts at replication. To the point that now when I read or hear of any such claim, my first thought is "How long until this is found to be optimistic bullshit as well?"

This guy I watch on YouTube (Anton Petrov) was basically saying the same thing. His video on the topic and he laid out the criticisms pretty clearly. Also did one on that stupid fucking article everyone was picking up regarding the yin Yang particle picture or whatever (literally was a ying yang symbol being imaged on, not particles looking like yin Yang)

I feel like the media is to blame for a lot of these cases and journals not actually fucking reviewing things properly (go figure)
