Wholesome Calvin hits different.
Calvin and Hobbes
Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

I think Calvin is more wholesome than the comic's reputation. I know it was pretty much written from his view, but he was just a kid without a proper understanding of the world. Even if he sounded evil in the comic,he was just a little boy not understanding the world. And who doesn't remember being an 8 year old not wanting to do what their parent's say? Okay I think I just examined the general comedy of Calvin and Hobbes that makes me feel older than his Dad, though I probably am anyways.
I'm more marveling at what a good representation this moment is for the love you feel for your parents as a kid.
You might act hateful at times, but inside, as a child, you adore your parents absolutely.
Kids just suck at showing it, and mostly do so accidentally, like here.
Yup. She has cooties. But that’s okay.
This is so sweet!
