In the 1980s horror writer Garth Marenghi wrote, directed and starred in a TV series so cutting edge that TV channels refused to show it. It's now the early 2000s and the series is finally being released. Set in Darkplace Hospital, Marenghi plays Dr Rick Dagless, a caring yet unconventional doctor. His colleagues are Drs Lucien Sanchez and Liz Asher and boss is Thornton Reed. Together they deal with some bizarre, paranormal cases.

I really love the type of humor this show had.

Also, One Track Lover was a banger: https://youtu.be/OO-ZGP68-3w?feature=shared

Richard Ayoade rapping is the comedic cherry on the cake there.

For MB/RA see AD/BC: A Rock Opera.

This is the best show that has an episode about a giant psychic eyeball

I went to see his Terrortome live show, absolutely brilliant.

Me too. I caught him in Manchester - it was great! Got my booked signed too, like everyone else there it seemed.

Looking forward to the Incarcerat tour, which reminds me that I haven't booked tickets.

Just came to let everyone know, if you enjoy comedy podcasts... the last episode of Off Menu (comedians Ed Gamble & James Acaster interview various celebs in a 'dream restaurant' where James is a weird genie and Ed is the waiter) features none other than Garth Merenghi!

I hadn't heard of him since the amazing Dark Place, he does the whole interview in character and it's brilliant.

Brilliant, thanks for that - if you enjoyed Darkplace, try and catch him on tour it's all in character too. It's a spoof book tour that is.also a book tour, so it's half readings, half Q&A.

Actually, I'll do a separate thread on this as most of what I posted was on Reddit. Might as well drag it across.

And that's here.
