Linux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

I think this time the problem isn't going to go away...they got a pass after Centos but they're showing a pattern of behavior now.

No, the problem would not go away.
I think OP meant the PR problem would eventually fade if beligerent CEOs could just STFU. Seems to be a pattern this year.
Open source plus profit motive equals spicy. This isn't a new problem. You can look at the history of how Windows was trying to fight Linux. It wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft started trying to take over Linux again in 10 to 15 years.
