What are the odds of a contestant getting the first Daily Double in the Jeopardy round followed immediately by the second and third Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy, leading to a potential octuple multiplication of their score?

That would be hard to pull off, as the contestant that's in third place selects first in Double Jeopardy. For a contestant to 8x their score, they would have to be in a distant third, get the next to last clue in the first round correct so that they get the Daily Double, still be in last place even after their score is doubled, then select the correct clues to start Double Jeopardy. That would be nearly impossible.

Nearly. lol But yeah, it's a slim shot.

So wait, when do they get their daily doubles? At the end of each round where they have the most money?

Yes. The final clue in Round 1 and the first two clues in Round Two.

Wow, this blows my mind. Somehow I always thought they were random. I guess I haven't watched enough Jeopardy.

They are randomized. There is one for Jeopardy and there are two for Double Jeopardy.
