It looks like he didn’t brake, which (I assume) would have made the situation worse.

Is the correct action in that situation just to maintain constant speed and hope it straightens out? Or do you need to accelerate?

I believe the suggested actions is to let off the accelerator and let the car slow on its own, while trying to maintain an even heading

It looks like the back trailer is empty and the front one is loaded. In this case, I would say yes. Let off gas and try to maintain straight heading.

Looks like it might be a very loaded and heavy truck and empty and light trailer. The truck barely moved.

Interesting how it barely affected the front of the truck. I'm sure that helped to keep calm and not swerve/brake in panic.
