I believe it deletes it currently (though it may depend on server), but many have requested only removing location data (lens and copyright data is important for many photographers). I believe it's still being worked on.
A more concrete answer would be nice, in case I'm wrong ๐
according to this old github issue its a toggle per server?
So potentially its able to do so, but depends on the instance.
Have you downloaded any images and checked if there is EXIF data available on those?
