Nice find! I'm glad the field is still progressing.

As a postdoctoral researcher from 2014โ€“17 he helped rewrite genes in photosynthetic algae to boost the production of oils that could be captured and converted into biofuels. At the time, chemists around the world had similar ambitions, backed by hundreds of millions of dollars from the likes of Shell and Exxon Mobil.

I was in similar research at the time, some algae but mostly bacterial routes. If their electrolyzer efficiency can be maintained during scale-up it will be a true game-changer.
