Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards
Rules
Keep it ergo
Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)
i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²
¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid

Was about to comment "are you Goa'uld?" when I saw this.
Your sense for aesthetics are always on point. 🔥
Thank you!
What do the knobs do?
Right now, on base layer, volume and left-right scroll
If you don't mind sharing, how much did this cost to build?
Well, that’s a bit hard to nail down, the board is not for sale yet so, I’m not sure the price is nailed down. The plate is laser cut acrylic I got on special from elecrow for $4. The Keboardio keycaps were on sale for $5 a set for the alps version. I went cheap and got Matias clicky switches (alps clones), $40 for 200. I also used half a roll of filament for the case, about $20, and screws I had on hand. All in, disregarding prototype cases, around $280 to $300.
I like the style, everything about it looks well thought out and put together. What scroll ring is used on this, and where did you get it?
It's a PERS56. You can get them at DigiKey or mouser. I forget if it's one or both!
Thanks! So, I don’t remember the scroll ring part number but sadek designed all the electronics.
@sadekbaroudi do you know the part number offhand?
I may not have tagged him correctly, I need to figure out how to do that on lemmy.
