Honestly no clue. I'd bet the average person doesn't even know that Putin has an arrest warrant for genocide.

More like for illegal deportation of children.

Under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the following are defined as acts of genocide.

  1. Killing members of the group;

  2. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

  3. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

  4. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

  5. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Ok, I get it. I’m Ukrainian myself. I know what that POS has done and hope he dies very soon. But although what he’s been doing has, indeed, been pretty much a genocide, the UN won’t recognize it as such. Either for political reasons or because it’s hard to prove. That’s all I was saying. I agree with you though. It’s genocide.

Yeah when we did that in the Americas it was genocide, so it’s that there too. It’s an attempt to kill a culture by stealing children

I know! I’m Ukrainian myself. I was more referring to what he is officially is wanted for (I’m guessing it’s because illegal deportation is easier to prove and/or some political BS).

I assume it’s heuristics.

Combination of fatigue with how long the Ukrainian conflict has been going on and "hey look a new thing"

Seeing kamikaze drones blow up ancient Russian tech did lose its shine after a while, but Ukraine just got 31 Abrams tanks so things might get crazy soon. And frankly I'd rather watch Ukrainians BTFO invaders than whatever daily Israeli war crime everyone is going to ignore.

News. From the word "new."

“Mono” meaning one and “rail” meaning rail.

We didn’t evolve to care about this much stuff at this big of a scale.

We are built to live in a small group of people, and to value those people to the exclusion of others.

Global communication developed far far faster than our societies or our genes. It’s just too much to care about.
