That's a long and depressing article. What could've been, then as now, if only the racists and troglodytes and wealthy asswipes hadn't said no.

Thanks for the touch of 1911 rapid transit, too. Magnified up close, it looks like there would've been a rail line two blocks from my house, if only the racists and troglodytes and wealthy asswipes hadn't said no.
