I'll go next - top mounted blower injector has unnecessary side ports that provide no benefit from being exposed above the engine block. Typically, they are used as a ram intake to increase horsepower.
The front axle appears to come out of the differential at two different heights

Indeed. If anything, the sideways airflow of driving down the road would probably pull something of a vacuum on those side ports, basically defeating the purpose.
