One year and 3 months down today. It’s my second birthday sober and I’m feeling great. Having lunch out with the family today. It has taken a while to reprogram my brain. Before I would find any celebration as an excuse to drink. Even alone. ESPECIALLY alone. Now I enjoy the company, period. 💜

I don't know how to say it so please forgive my awkwardness, but I am so proud of you!

Awesome, well done, congrats! It's funny how your brain is tricking you to do things you don't really want to do. Well done on the reprogramming, my experience is that it only becomes easier over time.

Happy belated birthday! I relate with you on the finding any excuse to drink. When I finally gave it up, most of what I did ultimately served my need to consume alcohol. I had to reprogram my entire way of thinking too because it was my sole motivation for everything. Life is about more than that.
